The assistant acts as you, in the organization (and location) you choose when connecting.

Asks when unsure

If several products match (“papanași” and “Papanași cu gem”), it asks which one before changing anything. Prices are gross (VAT included), in RON.

Smart QR Menu free

Search and view products; create and edit products and categories (translations into 7 languages, nutrition values and allergens are generated automatically); activate or deactivate products; add product photos; add or remove products on QR menus; see how often the QR menu is viewed.

Photos

Put photos on products, right from the chat.

Every photo is stored square (1:1), centre-cropped, at most 1080×1080. A photo framed on the dish works best.

ChatGPT
  1. Attach a photo, or ask ChatGPT to generate one (“create a photo of the dish for X”).
  2. Ask it to put the photo on the product.
  3. It’s saved directly, with no download or re-upload.
Claude
  1. Attach a photo and ask Claude to add it to a product.
  2. Claude shows a small photo picker inside the chat. Pick the photo (the same one you attached).
  3. It’s saved in seconds, without leaving the conversation.

Tip for Claude: allowing api.insmart.ro in Claude’s code-execution network settings lets Claude upload an attached photo directly, without the picker.

Fallback: a one-time upload link, valid for 30 minutes, that works on phone or computer.

Setup

How to connect

You need the connector URL: https://mcp.insmart.ro/mcp

Claude
  1. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector (or search “InSmart” in the connector directory once it’s listed).
  2. Name it InSmart and paste the connector URL.
  3. Click Connect, sign in to InSmart, choose the organization and approve.
  4. In a new chat, turn on InSmart from the tools menu.
ChatGPT
  1. Open chatgpt.com/plugins, click Add and choose Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it InSmart, paste the connector URL under Server URL and leave Authentication on OAuth.
  3. Tick “I understand and want to continue” and click Create as a plugin.
  4. Sign in to InSmart, choose the organization and approve.

Tip: start a new chat after connecting. Asking “Which InSmart tools do you have?” confirms it’s working.

Safety and control

  • The assistant only sees and changes what the connected user can see and change in the chosen organization.
  • Nothing is deleted permanently: products can only be deactivated, which can be undone.
  • Every action through an assistant is recorded in the organization’s activity log, marked as coming from the AI connector (Claude / ChatGPT).
  • On the free plan, assistants can make at most 100 changes per day. Changes made in InSmart itself are not limited.
  • Disconnect at any time from Claude/ChatGPT settings, or in InSmart → Integrări → Claude / ChatGPT. Owners and admins can disconnect any connection in their organization.

Data and privacy

  • The assistant receives only the data needed for each request: products, menus, stock, sales totals, and bookings (first name, time, party size; phone and e-mail only when explicitly asked).
  • That data goes to the provider you chose (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) and is handled under its policies.
  • InSmart doesn’t keep the conversations.
